CASES Graduate Recognition Scheme goes live!
1st August 2025
The Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES) is delighted to launch a new scheme that aims to support graduates of CASES endorsed degree courses to take the next step in their career, whether this is further study, employed work, or taking a break to consider what is next.
Eighteen months ago, the CASES Education and Teaching Special Interest Group, in collaboration with both the HE Endorsement Scheme Advisory Group and Student Advisory Group, began working on a project aimed at Raising Aspirations in Sport and Exercise Sciences (RAISES).
Today, Friday 1 August 2025, the project is proud to bring two key two milestones to life:
Graduate Recognition Resources
The first milestone was to develop a graduate recognition certificate and graduate digital logo (both for Undergraduate and Postgraduate).
The graduate certificate, incorporating the institution and date of study, is evidence of a student having completed a CASES endorsed degree. Graduates will be encouraged to download their certificate, print it out and take it along to any interview, using this certificate to help articulate (hopefully with increased self-confidence) the skills and knowledge developed throughout their degree and how their experiences are relevant to their desired job.
The digital CASES graduate logo aims to enhance the graduate’s level of professionalism, as they incorporate the logo into their email signature.
Graduate Survey
The second milestone was to develop a CASES Endorsed Scheme Graduate survey.
Seeking to enhance the support graduates receive immediately after completing their studies, the CASES Graduate survey has been developed so that tailored resources are provided based upon responses. The CASES Graduate survey has been developed by drawing on the graduate outcomes survey (a UK-wide, annual survey that surveys graduates 15 months after they finish their higher education studies).
We aim to engage our CASES graduates annually with the survey, seeking to understand their development and career choices. CASES plans to share these results with the wider membership and provide specific data to institutions who have CASES Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate course Endorsement.
Professor Jo Hudson FCASES, Chair of the CASES Education and Teaching Special Interest Group
“Professionals and students within the field of Sport and Exercise Science know just how many valuable, transferable skills that graduates of CASES endorsed degrees gain. We are really pleased to see this project come to fruition with a Graduate Certificate that aims to help the students to showcase this breadth and to help get the secret out to employers! We hope that students will be proud to use the digital logo and to promote their achievement.
“The Graduate Survey is equally important, for students in better understanding the career choices that they have, and for professionals in preparing students for these careers and promoting the value that a degree in Sport and Exercise Science brings to prospective students and employers.”
Engaging graduates - CASES Endorsed Course Leaders communication
In the coming weeks, individuals who lead CASES Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses can expect to receive an email with details of how to engage their students with the graduate recognition certificate, digital logo and CASES graduate survey.
