Outreach
CASES Outreach Work
In 2021, the CASES Board agreed to establish a CASES Outreach Panel, with the aim of increasing public engagement with and awareness of CASES and sport and exercise science more broadly. Since its establishment, the panel has supported a range of outreach activities designed to bring sport and exercise science to wider audiences. These include engagement events with local schools such as a national poster competition, and public lectures exploring topical issues across sport and exercise science. Through these activities, the panel aims to showcase the relevance and impact of sport and exercise science, inspire the next generation, and promote greater public understanding of the association and discipline.
In 2025/26, the Outreach Panel worked with Bournemouth University students to create slides and a story board that were then turned into an animation describing how CASES’ practitioners support athletes:
The CASES Outreach Panel currently comprises of:
Outreach Hubs
CASES Outreach Hubs engage with local school and college students and teachers, as well as members of the public. Each Hub will run an annual school poster competition, engaging and supporting school and college students to develop information posters on topics that they have interacted with during visits to higher education institutions. The Outreach Hubs will also support delivery of other forms of outreach such as public talks, webinars and engagement with teachers.

Careers
Details of the CASES Career Guide can be found here.
CASES has produced several short videos from practitioners who have forged a career in various industries, following completion of a sport and exercise science related degree.
Here are a number of interview style videos explaining what the practitioner is currently doing within their role, providing an overview of qualification and training they completed and any networking/work experience they undertook to help them along in their career.
We hope the short videos prove helpful to school-age students (aged between 13 and 18 years old) to engage them with a better understanding of what they can do with a degree related to sport and exercise science.

Outreach workshops
Each Outreach Hub recruits local schools and colleges (geographical area) to take part in one-day workshops at the Outreach Hub. The workshops can be tailored to the expertise at the Outreach Hub but will look to enrich the learning and understanding of sport and exercise science in relation to the students’ studies. The workshops will include interactive activities and will support the students to explore each topic so that they can go on to produce an informative poster on a topic related to their studies.
