Open Call: Student Members for the CASES EDI Advisory Group
22nd October 2026

CASES is inviting expressions of interest from CASES undergraduate student members who would like to join our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
The EDI Advisory Group works to support CASES in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion across the organisation and the wider sport and exercise sciences community. We provide advice and insight, contribute to EDI initiatives and activities, and help ensure that a range of experiences and perspectives inform the work of CASES.
Student voices are an important part of this. Students represent the future of our profession and can bring valuable perspectives on education, training, career pathways, belonging and inclusion. We want to ensure that students have a meaningful voice in conversations about how CASES and the profession continue to develop.
We welcome expressions of interest from students from all backgrounds, disciplines and stages of study. We particularly value diversity of experience and perspective and would encourage interest from students who feel their experiences or communities are not always well represented within sport and exercise sciences. You need to be an undergraduate student and a current member of CASES but do not need previous EDI experience or expertise to get involved and you will be supported by existing EDI members during your time on the group.
Membership of the CASES EDI AG involves a commitment to attend monthly EDI Advisory Group meetings, where possible, alongside opportunities to contribute to activities and projects according to your interests and capacity. In return, involvement provides opportunities to develop your networks, contribute to meaningful work across the profession, gain experience of advisory and EDI activity, contribute to publications in The Sport and Exercise Scientist, and develop skills that can support your wider professional development.
If you are interested in joining us, we would love to hear from you. Please submit a short expression of interest (1-page) outlining why you would like to join the EDI Advisory Group and what perspectives, experiences or interests you feel you could bring to the group. Everyone who submits an expression of interest will be invited to attend an informal meeting with the EDI Co-Chairs where they can answer any questions you may have concerning the work of the group and your potential role.
Please email your expression of interest to iwilson@cases.org.uk by noon on Monday 23 November 2026. Please mark this email as confidential and within the subject header, please add ‘CASES EDI Advisory Group Expression of Interest.’
Please also take a look here for other current CASES Committee vacancies, for which the application deadline will close soon.
