Supervision approach

My supervision philosophy centres on creating a collaborative atmosphere where we focus on supporting and empowering you to grow into your role through appropriate challenge and building on your existing strengths.

My approach integrates experiential learning through observations, client sessions, and role-play situations, alongside developing your professional philosophy by exploring the values and theoretical foundations that will guide your practice. Reflective practice is woven throughout our work together, helping you develop the self-awareness essential for independent practice.

I offer flexible delivery through a mix of individual and group sessions, using both synchronous and asynchronous methods tailored to your individual needs and learning style. My goal is to create a safe space where you can make mistakes, learn from them, and develop into a competent, ethical practitioner who's prepared for independent practice. The supervision process is designed to challenge you appropriately while ensuring you feel supported throughout your training journey.

Further information

I established my own practice whilst I was a trainee myself, so I understand first-hand the challenges of building a career in sport and exercise psychology as a self-employed practitioner. If you're considering self-employment, I can provide practical business skills development alongside your training. I am also passionate about dissemination of sport psychology principles to the wider public, and as such emphasise the positive use of social media as an outreach tool.

My approach is grounded in practical, pragmatic and evidence-based practice which has real-world application. I have extensive experience working with mixed client populations from youth to elite level across various sports, and particular expertise in esports psychology.

Having travelled internationally with teams, I understand the unique challenges of applied practice in various contexts. There may be opportunities for you to support work across different settings, though this depends on current projects and cannot be guaranteed. Throughout our work together, I prioritise your wellbeing and self-care, recognising that looking after yourself is essential for effective practice with clients.
