Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club are currently recruiting for an academy strength and conditioning coach to join our award-winning medical team. Our dedicated medical team have been recognised for their outstanding work and innovation within the field of sports medicine in the 2017/18 season, after being nominated for the ‘Premier League Medical and Science Team Award’ at the Football Medical Association Conference.
This role will provide strength and conditioning coaching for our foundation phase (U9-U12) athletes to include field and gym based performance and recovery sessions. The post holder will also support with the Youth Development Phase (U13-U16). This is a permanent role and will be primarily based at our state of the art training facility, the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre in Lancing.
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Sports Science or Strength & Conditioning from a recognised University and preferably, a postgraduate degree (or working towards) in Strength & Conditioning or related subject. The successful candidate will be UKSCA Accredited (or have a demonstrable ability to complete the accreditation within 6 months) and will preferably be BASES accredited (or currently undergoing supervised experience).
The successful candidate will also have at least two years’ experience in the provision of strength and conditioning services to elite athletes which should include work with high performance teams or squads. Candidates must have experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of strength and conditioning programmes for elite footballers.
