This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) , 3-year (initially) appointment, within a specialist military unit.

Overall purpose of post:

To be part of a multidisciplinary Human Performance (HP) programme, supporting people to meet the high demands of working within a specialist military unit.

As part of the nutrition team, you will be expected to actively engage with service personnel, deliver high quality presentations, provide 1-1 support, and contribute to the wider human performance programme. You will also engage with military and industry chefs to ensure the quality of food provision at various locations.

You should have:

• An MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition or similar.
• SENr Practitioner Registration or AfN Registered Nutritionist.
• The ability to deliver performance nutrition services within high performance domains (sport, military, emergency services, business).
• The ability to convey complex nutritional concepts to a diverse range of high performing individuals.
• The ability to deliver nutrition education in a group setting.
• The ability to conduct 1-to-1 nutrition consultations.
• The ability to work with chefs to produce performance focussed menus.
• The ability to collect, manage, analyse and report nutritional data.
• The ability to work successfully both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A wider understanding of the physiological effects of arduous physical and cognitive activity in a range of environmental conditions.
• Full UK driver’s license.

You will be:

• Developing, delivering, and evaluating performance nutrition services within a specialist military unit.
• Contributing to the development of performance nutrition services across the wider HP programme.
• Ensuring that the unit is following an evidence informed approach to performance nutrition and is embracing the latest advancements in nutrition science.
• Authoring reports and delivering updates to the unit human performance lead management team.
• Conducting group presentations, workshops and 1-to-1 consultations..
• Creating a range of nutrition education resources to ensure the widest dissemination of nutritional information within the unit.
• Gathering and managing data to support the delivery of the human performance programme.
• Developing menus alongside military and industry chefs to meet the needs of high performing individuals based on the requirements of their role.
• Working alongside the other elements of the human performance team to ensure an integrated approach to health and wellbeing.
