Expert speakers announced for the inaugural webinar from CASES and ISESA

The inaugural joint webinar between CASES and the Irish Sports and Exercise Sciences Association (ISESA) will bring together leading experts to explore the application of sport science in elite performance environments this January.

Taking place on Thursday 29 January, 2026 at 1-2pm, the Sport Science Application in Elite Sport webinar is now open for registration. 

This not -to-be-missed, free webinar will include two parts:

Part 1: From Lab to Lions: Translating Sport Nutrition Research into Elite Practice

Professor Graeme Close FCASES (Liverpool John Moores University and CASES Fellow) will discuss the translation of sport nutrition research into elite practice, drawing on his work with the British and Irish Lions and other high-performance programmes. Using the Paper to Podium framework, he will highlight how evidence is integrated into real-world decision making.

Part 2: Lessons from a Lifetime of Elite Level Strength and Conditioning Support

Professor Tom Comyns (University of Limerick; Chair, ISESA) will share insights from over 20 years supporting elite athletes across professional rugby and Olympic and Paralympic sport, focusing on applying research to strength and conditioning practice to enhance athlete health, wellbeing and performance.
