Expressions of interest invited - CASES Conference Scientific Planning Group

The CASES Conference is our flagship event. The Conference Scientific Planning Group is responsible for the technical content and overall planning of the CASES Conference, including securing all speakers, so that we can deliver world-leading content across sport and exercise sciences within an outstanding conference. CASES has an ambition to grow the reach and importance of the CASES Conference, with the recent inaugural event being a very successful event.

Following the conclusion of the CASES Conference 2026 in June, all members of the 2026 Conference Scientific Planning Group have now concluded their final tenure. We would like to thank the following for their hard work for CASES and for the successful Conferences delivered over their term: Dr Adam Grainger FCASES, (Chair), Dr Daniel Bailey HonFCASES, (Deputy Chair), Dr Theodoros Bampouras, Dr Lindsay Bottoms FCASES, Dr Richard Buscombe MCASES, Prof John Dickinson FCASES, Dr Tracy Donachie, Dr Mike Price HonFCASES, Victoria Tidmas, and Prof Tim Cable and Dr Georgina Stebbings MCASES (2026 Hosts).

We are now going to open advert to recruit seven new members, with the following specialisms:

• Biomechanics and Motor Behaviour,
• Physical Activity for Health,
• Physiology and Nutrition,
• Psychology,
• Sport and Performance,
• Teaching and Learning Enhancement, and
• Multi-disciplinary.

The CASES EDI AG and the CASES Student Advisory Group will also nominate a representative, and the Group will also include members of the 2028 Host Institution. The CASES Head of Operations will support the work of the CASES Conference Scientific Planning Group.

The incoming appointments will start their first term in November 2026, helping to plan for the CASES Conference 2028 over the following 18 months. At the first meeting, the Group will look to appoint a Chair and Deputy Chair from within the Group’s membership.
