Insightful presentations at the Psychology Division Day 2025

The 2025 CASES Psychology Division Day took place at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) on Wednesday 21 May, offering a hybrid event for delegates to attend either in-person or online.

The event provided a great opportunity for networking and discussion, with some excellent and insightful presentations from four different speakers on a variety of topics.

Dr Suzanne Brown, a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist and founder of Emotionally Connected, delivered "The Human Encounter”, reflecting on the similarities between therapist and client and therapeutic success.

Manisha Aggarwal, a Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology student at LJMU, presented on her research into cultural competence in cross-ethnic therapeutic relationships in sport psychology.

After lunch, delegates learned about neurodiversity in sport psychology practice and how this can be made more neuroinclusive for all from Dr. Kristin McGinty-Minister, a Lecturer in Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University and a Sport and Exercise Psychologist.

And finally, Dr Dan Brown delivered a session sharing his experiences and reflections on creating thriving environments in sport. Dan is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and a Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training.

The day offered a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, connect with colleagues, and benefit from the insights of the speakers. It was great to see so many people sharing their interest in sport and exercise psychology – thank you to all who attended, both in-person and online.
