Keele University becomes the first HEI on the CASES Accredited Partnership Scheme
29th October 2025
CASES is delighted to announce that Keele University has become the first Higher Education Institute to be accepted on to the CASES Accreditation Partnership Scheme.
CASES Accreditation enables key employers and deployers in the sport and exercise science sector to support sport and exercise scientists to develop in their careers and support employers to safeguard their employees and clients.
Successfully approved organisations employing sport and/or exercise science staff can support their employees to apply for CASES Accreditation via a ‘streamlined’ direct application route. The streamlined route involves the development and submission of an accreditation application portfolio containing a supervisor report written by an Accredited CASES member or CASES Fellow of that accredited organisation.
Keele Universities official accreditation status means they join a prestigious list of sporting institutions that have achieved accredited status, including the UK Institute of Sport (formerly the English Institute of Sport), Everton FC, Newcastle United FC, Leicester City FC and sportscotland Institute of Sport.
Dr Clare Pheasey, Programme Director and Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science at Keele, said: “We are delighted to be the first university to partner with CASES through this prestigious accreditation scheme. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing our students with the highest quality education and to ensuring that our graduates are recognised as competent, ethical, and forward-thinking professionals in the sport and exercise science field.”
Dr Paul Jones FCASES, Chair of CASES Accreditation Advisory Group added: “We are delighted to accept Keele University as the first HEI on the CASES Accreditation Partnership Scheme.
“We are looking forward to working more closely with them as they support their employees to achieve CASES accredited status, thus ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance and impactful practice for their institution. We also hope that this will encourage other HEIs to apply to be part of the Accreditation Partnership Scheme.”
