Update for CUES Courses: Mid-Cycle Course Change Process

20th January 2026

The Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Science (CASES) is introducing a formalised CUES Course Change Process (mid-endorsement cycle) to ensure the quality and integrity of CASES-endorsed undergraduate programmes remains consistent when course content or structure changes.

This update is specifically for universities that deliver CASES Undergraduate Endorsement Scheme (CUES) courses. If your institution makes changes to a CUES-endorsed programme during an endorsement cycle, CASES now requires you to notify us and submit:

  • A Course Change Form, and
  • A Mapping Document showing how the changes impact the CUES domains.

These documents will be reviewed by the CASES HE Exercise Science Advisory Group (HE ES AG).

Possible Outcomes

Following review, your course change will be classified as:

  • Minor change → Current CUES endorsement approved
  • Moderate change → Current CUES endorsement approved
  • Substantial change → Current CUES endorsement rejected → A full endorsement application is required

This process recognises the time involved in reviewing mid-cycle course changes while maintaining the quality and consistency of CASES-endorsed programmes across the sector.

For full details about the process and fees go to our CUES section of the website and click on Course Changes. Please note, documents and examples to assist with this process will be available from the end of February 2026.

Thank you for your continued commitment to delivering high-quality sport and exercise science education through CASES.
