Hi, I’m Laura, a UK-based Sport and Exercise Psychologist (HCPC registered, CPsychol) with over eight years of experience working with adults and young people in sport and esports. I have supported performers across high-performance environments, including ITF and WTA tennis, professional esports, football academies, and women’s rugby. My consultancy currently centres on tennis, football, and esports, with a growing focus on supporting neurodivergent athletes, performers, and practitioners.

I am co-lead of the Neurodiversity Special Interest Group within CASES, and my work is grounded in neuro-affirmative practice. I am particularly interested in how performance environments can be designed to support different ways of thinking, sensing, and being, rather than expecting individuals to mask or adapt to rigid systems.

My applied philosophy integrates acceptance- and mindfulness-based approaches with somatic, body-based awareness. I specialise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness practice, supporting clients to work skilfully with thoughts, emotions, and physiological responses.

Alongside my applied practice, I am a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University, researching neuro-affirmative practice, equity in performance contexts, and the development of sport psychologists.

Supervision approach

I aim to create a reflective, collaborative space to share honestly and challenge safely. I believe that you, as a psychologist and a person, are the most important part of successful practice. Therefore, my approach is to support you by empowering you to learn more about yourself, what this means for your role as a sport and exercise psychologist, and how this impacts the way you interact with the performance environment.

I bring a neuro-affirmative lens to supervision and welcome different communication styles and sensory needs within the space. I also integrate somatic awareness and embodied reflection where helpful, supporting supervisees to notice what is happening cognitively and physiologically in applied practice.

Supervision with me includes one individual and one group meeting per month.
