Higher Education Endorsement Scheme - Application and Support Update

18th August 2025

The CASES Higher Education Endorsement Scheme Advisory Group have some important developments to share with CASES members and institutions considering or involved in CASES endorsement schemes.

CASES Undergraduate Endorsement Scheme (CUES) updates

New features of application

If your institution is interested in applying for CASES Undergraduate Endorsement, please note that following revision to the review process, the CUES Application Documents have been updated.

These changes include:

  • A need for applicants to articulate key features such as practical hours, assessment of practical competencies and how artificial intelligence has been incorporated.
  • New criteria relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Climate Change and Sustainability.
  • Identifying how accredited staff specifically contribute to the delivery of the programme.

Website support and examples

New and refreshed resources have been developed to support applicants put together applications for endorsement (CASES Undergraduate Endorsement Scheme (CUES) | CASES - ‘Endorsement Guidance and Examples’). These materials provide examples for the applicant that include the level of documentary evidence required to meet the CUES criteria.

Course change

Recognising that many institutions are currently engaged in curriculum transformation projects, the Advisory Group have reflected on how to support the sector. This year, the group has piloted a streamlined course change process which supports CUES courses in making CASES aware of changes which may impact continued course endorsement.

If your course is going through something similar, guidance and resources are available on the CASES website (CASES Undergraduate Endorsement Scheme (CUES) | CASES - ‘Course Changes’).

CASES Postgraduate Endorsement Scheme (CPGES) update

The CPGES has had a successful first year endorsing three institutions and four courses. Guidance and resources are available on the CASES website (CASES Postgraduate Endorsement Scheme (CPGES) | CASES).

If you think your institution’s course would benefit from CASES course endorsement, you are encouraged to complete the course intention form.

Applications for endorsement may be submitted all year round, but will be reviewed during the submission windows, which for both CUES and CPGES close 31 January and 31 May annually. Outcomes will be decided following these deadlines.

All endorsed courses are listed on our Course Directory.

If you have any questions about endorsement, please contact CASES education@cases.org.uk
